Nissan Gravite MPV Analysis: Complete Design, Specifications, and Launch Details for India

Meet the Nissan Gravite: The New Family 7-Seater Coming Soon

Great news for big families on a budget! Nissan Motor India has officially revealed the name of its next big car. It is called the Nissan Gravite. This new car is a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), which means it is designed to carry more people and luggage than a standard car. It will be the third major car in Nissan’s Indian lineup, joining the popular Magnite and the X-Trail.

The name “Gravite” comes from the word gravity. Nissan says this name stands for stability and balance. They want this car to be a strong anchor for families by offering comfort and good connections.

When Can You Buy It?

If you are planning to buy a new family car soon, you might want to wait just a little longer. Here is the official timeline for the Nissan Gravite:

  • Unveiling: The car will be shown to the world in January 2026.
  • Launch Date: Bookings and the official launch will also happen in January 2026.
  • Deliveries: You can expect to see the car on the roads by March 2026.

Expected Price

The best part about the Gravite is the price. It is designed to be very affordable. Experts predict the price will be between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh. Some reports even suggest the starting price could be under Rs 6 lakh. This makes it a direct rival to the Renault Triber.

Design and Style

The Gravite is built on the same platform as the Renault Triber, so it will be a sub-4 meter car. However, it will look quite different. Nissan has given it a unique style to make it stand out.

Front Design: The front of the car features a wide hexagonal grille with a gloss black finish. It has Nissan’s signature C-shaped grille and wraparound headlamps with LED daytime running lights. You will also see the “Gravite” name written boldly on the bonnet.

Rear Design: The back of the car continues the C-shaped theme with new taillights. There is a dark strip connecting the lights and the “Gravite” name is spelled out clearly on the tailgate.

Interior and Features

Nissan has designed the inside of the Gravite specifically for Indian families. The main focus is on space and flexibility. It can seat up to seven people.

While we have not seen the full interior yet, we expect it to have many modern features:

  • A large 8-inch touchscreen for music and maps.
  • A 7-inch digital display for the driver.
  • Wireless charging for your phone.
  • AC vents for the second and third rows so everyone stays cool.
  • Push-button start and stop.

Safety: Nissan is taking safety seriously. The car is expected to come with six airbags, parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and hill-start assist.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Gravite will use trusted engines that are already popular in India. The standard model will likely have a 1.0-litre petrol engine that produces about 72PS of power. For those who want more speed, there is expected to be a powerful Turbo petrol option

You can choose between a manual gearbox or an automatic (AMT) gearbox. In the future, Nissan might also launch a CNG version for even better fuel economy.

What Comes Next?

The launch of the Gravite is just the beginning. After this MPV arrives in early 2026, Nissan plans to launch a new SUV called the “Nissan Tekton” later in the year. They are also expanding their service network to 250 showrooms across India to help more customers.
