What is Metaverse?
In recent times, real estate has shifted to the virtual realm – sometimes termed as the Metaverse. The post pandemic times have seen a new race of buying plots of this virtual land. Prices for Metaverse have been skyrocketing tremendously ever since Facebook announced its entry into virtual reality. Since then some investors are shelling out millions for purchasing their own slice of “land” in the Metaverse.
The advent of this concept has been termed as “the next iteration of social media” where people can now visit museums, carnivals, and music concerts – all in the Metaverse.
Here, like multiplayer video games, people interact in their own“Avatars” (animated characters) through their own online devices. Further, companies entering Metaverse also want to create immersive and futuristic virtual worlds whichcan be experienced through virtual reality goggles, like Oculus by Meta.
Buying Trends in Metaverse
So far, celebrities who have dived into this virtual space in the Metaverse include Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg. While Paris Hilton’s “Paris World” is selling virtual outfits to users, Snoop Dogg’s own space “Snoopverse” can be accessed now by its own Ethereumblockchain based platform “The Sandbox”. With this, users can buy the Snoopverse Early Access Pass and get an early glimpse inside theSnoopverse.
Deepshikha Deshmukh, director of Pooja Entertainment said “Metaverse is the new frontier of the internet. It’s a new way to connect and engage with our audiences and fans,” She further added “Metaverse is becoming the future of virtual hangouts and is going to be the new way of consuming content. I am super stoked to have our biggest and most ambitious project – ‘BadeMiyanChoteMiyan’ – in the metaverse.”
Her brother Jackky Bhagnani who is also a part of Puja Entertainment too sounded assured and excited about the endeavor. He asserted that the Metaverse was no longer a pipe dream but a world where reality blends in with the virtual, a surefire sign of the things to come.
