OMG 2 Review: A Bold and Humorous Take on Sex Education in India

OMG 2, the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster OMG: Oh My God!, is a film that tackles the taboo topic of sex education in India with sensitivity, maturity, and humor. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Shiv Ka Das, a mysterious man who claims to be an avatar of Lord Shiva, and Pankaj Tripathi as Kanji Lal Mehta, a lawyer who fights for Shiv’s case in court. Yami Gautam plays the role of Shiv’s love interest, Dr. Radhika.

The Plot

The film revolves around the controversy that erupts when Shiv starts teaching sex education to school children in a small town in Uttar Pradesh. He faces opposition from the conservative society, the religious leaders, and the corrupt politicians who want to ban him from spreading his message. Kanji, who had previously won a case against God in OMG: Oh My God!, comes to his rescue and defends him in court. The film explores the importance of sex education in preventing teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and sexual violence. It also questions the hypocrisy and superstition that prevails in the name of religion and culture.

OMG 2 is a film that does not shy away from showing the reality of the situation in India, where sex education is either ignored or distorted by misinformation and myths. The film does not preach or moralize, but rather presents the facts and arguments in a logical and rational manner. The film also balances the serious subject matter with witty dialogues, hilarious situations, and engaging drama. The court room scenes are especially entertaining and gripping, as Shiv and Kanji face off against their opponents with intelligence and humor.
